With so many new hair trends and our recent favourites still trending, the Fuchsia team really cannot get enough! Most of our favs this year are chosen based on our mantra ’'Be your own kind of beautiful’’. Read more to find out Fuchsia’s top 9 trends this season.
~French Girl Chic
This is probably the biggest upcoming trend this year. Naturally textured hair and barely any makeup was all over the recent catwalks in NYC, Paris, London and Milan. It’s all about just using what you got girlfriend!
Let your hair dry naturally, then use a little bit of serum. Sebastian Potion 9 or Sebastian Sublimate, or use a leave in conditioner or even a curl enhancer. If you hair falls to flat and you want some more body let your hair dry naturally 80% then twist it up and tie it in a bun or a braid to finish drying. Once dried this would have created a soft natural wave or with the braid an uneasy sort of texture. Too easy!
~Feathery Bangs
French girl chic style comes into French girl chic cuts. Feathery being the key word makes for multi-functional, low maintenance bangs and enables you to wear it your own personal way. This is not a fringe to be straightened. It’s about soft layering and natural texture. You can move it forward to frame your face or tuck it back to open up your features. It essentially offers a 2-in-1 cut without the maintenance of a full fringe.
~The shaggy Cut
This is the coolest new trend out and it is such a classic throwback. Length wise you can go bob, lob or long. The bob is super sassy and sexy. The lob is really on trend giving a slight dishevelled look and if it’s long you see some amazing layers. This cut can be cut on curly, thick or thin hair and you can work it straight, wavy or curly. For fine hair it will help boost volume and for frizzy curly hair it can help tame the fluff. You will get an added bonus of it making you look younger plus it is easy to maintain. So stylish and so modern, we heart the shaggy cut!
~A Messy Bun
Life gets busy so dealing with perfecting your hairstyle may not be on the top of your priority list. Not only are messy buns an easy way to solve all your hair problems quickly but they can make any style you are working look chic. By adding different elements to your messy bun you can take what’s normally a common style and turn it into a sophisticated do. Wear it up high for height and volume or down low for a more subtle look.
The messy bun is easiest when your hair is a little dirty but if your hair is clean just spray your hair with our dry shampoo Sebastian Drynamic to give you texture and grit. We are stoked this easy up do is so on trend.
~The Soft Pony
This kind of pony is kept loose, informal and low by tying the hair roughly with a ribbon, cord or scrunchy. Yes a scrunchy! If you want a bit of fun with it just simply add a random braid. Keep your parting centre but not perfect and make use of your natural texture be it straight or curly. When you have your next cutting service ask for some soft pieces cut around your face to give you the option of adding a little romance or a little bit of a dishevelled look. After your hair is tied back, pull these soft pieces out around the ears. This gives femininity to the ponytail and makes it less severe. Use a little of our Sebastian Shaper Zero Gravity to help with that airy flyaway texture.
~Some Smooth Waves
If you have a party, wedding or corporate event we think this is the prettiest on trend look of the season. You can tone it down for a less formal look or go all out with Hollywood glam. Our stylists can do this look for you to perfection but if you want to attempt it yourself here it is.
Prepping your hair with lots of product is key. Firstly wash your hair. If you have naturally frizzy hair then put in a leave in conditioner and begin to let it dry naturally. Product is what makes this look work, so be generous. Apply Eimi Perfect me smoothing cream mid lengths to ends. Spray Sebastian Volupt spray and Sebastian Trilliant heat protector shine spray all over. Hand dry your hair about 70% using a blow dryer while lifting your roots to help with volume. Then use a round brush for the rest of your drying to help with smoothing. Using a wide barrelled iron, Iron flat from your roots to ears and then curl the ends. Once all curling is done, let your hair cool for 5 minutes then brush your fingers through to separate the curls. If you scrunch in Sebastian Stylixer on your ends this will separate the ends making the look more natural. If you want glam leave as it is. Viuola!
~Honey Blonde Ombré
Warm, honey shades were extremely popular over the spring summer months and thank goodness they continue to reign into 2018. With grungy, natural roots still on trend, colouring your hair blonde has never been so low-maintenance.
What’s cool about the honey blonde ombré is that there are so many different variations. It maybe that it starts off with a beautiful deep shade of auburn. The colour then melts into a caramel brown and ends with honey blonde. You could colour medium brown or keep it natural on your roots. Then colour the rest of your hair with ash and honey blonde. Or have a dark blonde base on your roots and enhance the look with light honey blonde on the ends. It’s important to know that not 1 look is the same. We all have different hair types, and colours to work with so make sure you book in your complimentary consultation which gives the stylist an opportunity to allow enough time to perfect your personal look.
~Crimson Red
If you’re going to rock a red then the season’s autumn and winter is the perfect time to do it! The hottest, trendiest red this season is crimson red. Also known as mulled wine red. It’s even been labelled as the new rose gold! Gasp!!
Colouring your hair this colour will leave you feeling powerful, classy and sexy all at the same time. Winter is when your whole outfit consists of a sleeping bag coat and the biggest scarf you can find. So a few locks of deep, crimson red can brighten up your look and your mood!
Want to keep your colour looking fresh? Then take home Evo Fabulosso purple red conditioner and use weekly when the colour starts to fade.
~Ash Brown
Ash brown is a great all round season trend. It’s been popular for a while and as the seasons come and go Ash brown will continue to prevail. You can have dark, medium or light ash brown and they all consist of brown, muted with slate grey, hints of blue and even greens. (Great for your base tones in your balayages.) But what’s trending these winter months and what Fuchsia love the most is the dark ash brown balayage. Using the same technique as we do with tiger eye brown you have your base a dark brown colour with balayage highlights/babylights being applied by a stylist then toned with ash brown creating an effortless and beautiful blend. Dark ash brown and Tiger eye brown are where it’s at this season!
